1. Full-Range Bidirectional Energy Flow
The HB Series adopts advanced bidirectional control technologies, including bidirectional PWM rectification, bidirectional high-frequency DC-DC soft switching, and digital bidirectional control loops, enabling energy to flow bidirectionally across the full power range.
With its constant power operating mode, the HB Series offers a significantly wider operating range. For example, the HB-015-1500 can provide 1500 V/10 A or 375 V/40 A output, while delivering the full 15 kW rated power at any voltage point from 375 V to 1500 V. This greatly enhances its output and regenerative capabilities.

2. Multiple Operating Modes
The HB Series supports four operating modes: Constant Voltage (CV), Constant Current (CC), Constant Power (CP), and Constant Resistance (CR).
As shown in Figure 1-3, R1, R2, and R3 represent loads with different resistance values. When R1 intersects the preset voltage line (Vset), the power supply operates in CV mode. When R2 intersects the preset power line (Pset), it operates in CP mode. When R3 intersects the preset current line (Iset), it operates in CC mode.
3. Solar Cell I-V Curve Simulation
The HB Series incorporates a SAS I-V curve mathematical model based on SANDIA and EN 50530. By simply setting parameters such as open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current (Isc), maximum power point voltage (Vmp), and maximum power point current (Imp), users can generate and simulate the required I-V curves.
The HB Series can also be equipped with professional PC-based PV simulation software, enabling convenient remote MPPT efficiency testing in accordance with EN 50530 and SANDIA standards.
It can simulate various solar cell output characteristics and I-V curves under different temperature and irradiance conditions, while monitoring and displaying the maximum power point tracking performance of PV inverters in real time. This enables both static and dynamic MPPT efficiency testing and supports a wide range of PV compliance testing requirements. Users can also verify and record full-day I-V output characteristics for further analysis.
4. Reliable Protection Mechanisms
The HB Series provides comprehensive and reliable protection against a wide range of abnormal conditions, including input AC overvoltage/undervoltage, phase loss, DC bus overvoltage/undervoltage, internal power device overcurrent and overtemperature, output overvoltage/undervoltage, output overcurrent, output current limit violations, and excessive voltage step time.
It also provides reliable protection alarms, while protection thresholds related to the load can be configured according to testing requirements.
5. Battery Simulation
The HB Series supports battery simulation, enabling the simulation of various battery output characteristics and profiles. Battery simulation can be configured directly on the power supply or remotely through PC software, which also supports custom battery models.
Users can select battery types such as Lithium Manganate (LMO), Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LCO), Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP), Lead-Acid, and Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), and configure parameters including battery type, number of series-connected cells, number of parallel-connected cells, and SOC.
The battery simulator operates in CV mode, with convenient switching between the battery simulation interface and the energy measurement interface during operation.
6. Arbitrary Waveform Generator
The HB Series features a built-in multi-function arbitrary waveform generator, allowing users to generate individual or combined triangle, square, trapezoidal, sine, and step waveforms and apply them to the output voltage or current.
Users can edit and combine waveforms according to specific testing requirements to create customized test profiles.
Typical applications include:
- Input Voltage Ramp Rate Control
- Voltage Step Profile Simulation
