Industrial UAV Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Testing Solution
Release time: 2026-10-22
Focusing on the core power distribution systems of industrial drones (such as tethered inspection drones, multi‑rotor operation drones, and fixed‑wing mapping drones), we conduct factory performance calibration, batch quality screening, reliability verification, and fault prediction testing for power distribution units (PDUs). This system adapts to the power distribution needs of drones under various operating conditions, including takeoff, cruising, hovering, and emergency landing. It addresses issues such as uneven load distribution, poor power supply stability, and ineffective overload protection in PDUs during long‑duration operations and complex flight environments, ensuring the coordinated reliability of the power distribution system with subsystems such as the drone's power module, communications system, and flight control system.
Test Items
It covers no‑load power supply test, load distribution test, power supply stability test, overload protection test, dynamic load response test, insulation performance test, durability test, aging test, etc.
Test Standards
3.1 National standards and industry basic standards
It complies with the test specifications of GB/T 39313‑2020, "Requirements for Power Distribution Systems for Civilian Unmanned Aircraft Systems," which require "PDU load distribution error ≤±3%, steady‑state output voltage fluctuation ≤±2%, and overload protection response time ≤80ms." It also adheres to the general requirements for industrial UAV power distribution system safety testing to ensure that test results meet the safety standards for UAV power supply.
3.2 Specifications for power distribution unit testing
Drawing on the "Functional Integrity Verification Standard" of the PDU comprehensive test system, it ensures that functional tests such as PDU start and stop, load distribution, and protection cover all scenarios; referring to the "Dynamic Performance Test Specification" of the PDU load test system, it meets the performance test requirements of the PDU within the range of 0‑120% of the rated total load, and adapts to the industry test indicators for industrial‑grade drone power distribution units.
Test plan
The bidirectional programmable DC test power supply acts as a source: It serves as the PDU's input energy source, simulating the voltage characteristics of a drone's power battery (with a wide adjustable voltage range). The output voltage and current are controlled by a host computer, accurately replicating the power supply environment under different flight conditions.
The bidirectional programmable DC test power supply acts as a load: It connects to the PDU's multiple outputs to simulate the dynamic load characteristics of various drone subsystems (such as flight control, communications, and sensors). Constant resistance, constant current, and constant power modes can be set to simulate sudden load changes (such as sudden device startup/shutdown).
